It's time to take the floor with Dance Off 2008!
Adult Learners' Week will quick-step into life on Cultural Diversity
Weekend with a multitude of dance events to showcase the breadth of
variation and cultural wealth of dancing as a learning activity. As
part of the wider national campaign, Adult Learners' Week it is an
opportunity for you to reach out to new audiences and form new
partnerships in your area through dance.
Cultural Diversity Weekend promotes learning through culture and heritage and will this year be using dance as a medium to engage different communities. Dance organisations across the country are being encouraged to hold events on the Weekend and offer new audiences the opportunity to try out different forms of dance as part of the celebration and to raise awareness of the importance of learning through dance.
Salsa, Foxtrot, Swing, Ballroom, Tango, Samba, Waltz, Ballet and
Synchronised Swimming are all possibilities and we would like events
to take place in as many different forms of dance as there under the
great big disco ball in the sky.
Dance Off 2008 is all about showing-off the breadth of variation and therefore the cultural wealth of the dance opportunities that are available in the UK. Be part of the largest learning festival in the UK and hold an open day or taster-session event during Adult Learners' Week this May!
