bpln – our aims

Develop an inclusive network which brings together black
and minority group practitioners and organisations

Identify the issues and needs of black and minority group
learners and respond to these through consultation, development
of policy and publication

Influence policies, practices, strategies and service provision of the
government, Local Strategic Partnerships (LCPs), Learning and
Skills Councils (LSCs), statutory and voluntary/community
organisations to ensure that they meet the needs of black
and minority groups

Empower and build capacity within black and minority organisations
by sharing good practice and working in an inclusive way with other
organisations

Liaise with other networks, partnerships and forums to
support the work of the Black Practitioners and Learners Network

Support black and minority organisations and practitioners to access
information, advice and resources to support their work with black and
minority groups

Influence national policies through regional consultative mechanisms

Work with European and other international networks, forums or
organisations which have similar and common aims as NIACE’s Black
Practitioners and Learners Network.
