Background

This two year project has been funded by the Department of Health, Section 64. NIACE has been working with practitioners, service users and organisations in the North West, West Midlands and South West to explore the ways in which family learning and mental health can work together to enhance positive learning opportunities and promote mental well-being.

A resource pack was piloted and the final pack has now been produced. This pack is for both mental health and family learning practitioners and organisations to raise awareness of the issues and provide guidelines for good practice.

These events offer the opportunity to:

bulletexplore ways to do this in your locality

The new pack will be available at the dissemination events. The pack contains 18 sheets including information on:

bulletfamily learning
bulletcase studies
bulletwhere to go for further information

Aims

The seminars aim to:

bulletdisseminate findings from the project
bulletpromote and publicise the pack
bulletencourage family learning and mental health managers and practitioners to work together to 'Think Family'
bulletidentify ways to improve provision to support mental health and well-being

The day will start with registration and refreshments at 10.30am and close with tea/coffee at 3.00pm.
