E-Guides National Event

STOP PRESS: There will be a live webcast of the sessions taking place in the main room. They will then be available to view for a month after the event. Please click on the following link to view the webcast www.voiceprompt.co.uk/niace

On Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March 2006, NIACE is holding a two day residential E-Guides National Event in Birmingham.

The event aims to:

bulletUpdate skills.
bulletEnhance E-Guides communities of practice.
bullet

Celebrate E-Guides achievements.

The two days offer a flexible programme so you can follow your interests, update your knowledge on e-learning developments in ACL and listen to a variety of dynamic speakers on topics of relevance to adult educators. Workshops and plenary sessions offer opportunities to discuss the way forward, to consider how best to consolidate the skills and knowledge gained to date, and sustain the enthusiasm and momentum generated by the E-Guide training programme.

There will be speakers from the Learning and Skills Council, University for Industry, Adult Learning Inspectorate, Learning and Skills Development Agency, Joint Information Systems Committee, the BBC, and Channel 4 as well as from exemplar projects in the field. E-Guide trainers and RSC ACL advisors will be on hand to provide advice and support. We are also inviting E-Guides to present their own Hot Tips! This is an opportunity for you to make a short presentation to share technical tips, advice and suggestions for e-learning in the classroom or one of your cascade programme successes with other E-Guides.

There are seven workshop sessions over the two days. A "browsing" option is built in to the programme, which is an opportunity to use one of your workshop sessions to take time out to visit exhibitor stands, investigate learning materials and resources, or simply use the internet café.

The programme begins at 11.00 on Wednesday 1st March and ends at 15.30 on Thursday 2nd March. The fee is £110 per person and this includes attendance for both days, overnight accommodation, meals, and the evening event. Bursaries may be made available by special application to NIACE.

If you require any further information, please email eguidestsu@niace.org.uk  or telephone 0116 204 4279.
