[Background] [Aims] [Objectives] [Cybermoot] [Audience] [Programme]

Background

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has funded a number of learning providers to develop online learning platforms (sometimes called Virtual Learning Environments) to support their e-learning strategies.

LSC funding for projects in Adult and Community Learning has been provided via NIACE and this event will draw on the early experiences of these projects.

A key message for services with a part-time staff force and part-time learners has been the importance of developing strategies for appropriate and effective deployment of platforms. This process has raised some fundamental discussion around e-learning including quality, accessibility and sustainability. This conference and Cybermoot offer a chance to engage with these debates.
