[Announcement] [Themes]
[Aims] [Call for Contributions] [Programme]
We are pleased to invite you to the Learning and Skills Research Network
Conference which brings together practitioners from further and higher
education, adult community learning, voluntary organisations and training
providers who are interested in research and development in the Learning and
Skills Sector. The conference provides a unique opportunity to share interests
and explore how research can help our understanding of the policy and practice
of facilitating learning for young people and adults. The conferences offers
those who are conducting or using research the opportunity to inform others
about it. The conference re-launches the national LSRN network and welcomes both
new participants and those who were regular attendees at the LSRN conferences
between 1997 and 2003. We welcome contributions and participation from
practitioners in:
Adult and Community learning
Further Education
Higher Education
Learning and Skills Councils
Lifelong Learning Networks
Prisons
Private Training Providers
Probation Services

Call for contributions
The planning group invites contributions to the conference. There are two
forms of contribution:
those that will be placed in our directory of project summaries
contributions that are presentations for the conference.
Presentations are welcomed in a variety of formats:
Presentations
Paper presentations will typically involve a 20 minute presentation followed
by questions from the floor. Presenters are asked to identify their research
aim, the research methods they have used or intend to use and, where
appropriate, findings.
Round table discussion/think pieces
Round table or think pieces will involve a short presentation by an
individual or group which identifies a theme or issue to be discussed by
participants. Each round table requires a facilitator and a rapporteur. The
rapporteur will note agreed summaries of the discussion which will then be
placed for further debate on the LSRN website.
Guidelines for submission of summaries and think pieces
