Jane Ward

Jane has over 18 years experience of employment in adult and community education delivering, developing and managing provision for adult learners. Her particular areas of interest and expertise include community based and work place and adult learning, neighbourhood renewal, ESOL and literacy.

Since September 2001 she has been employed by NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education) as Regional Development Officer for the North West. The team of Regional Development Officers supports regional stakeholders to develop and implement policy and practice to meet the needs of adult learners in the region and works closely with the NIACE national teams. Whilst Jane is working on many aspects of adult learning across all sectors, areas of particular interest at the moment include widening participation, equality and diversity, adult learning in the context of the skills strategy, workplace learning and supporting the development of learning community initiatives in the North West.
