Simon MaugerRegional Development Officer, South West Simon Mauger has BA (Hons) and MA Degrees from Cambridge University, and further qualifications in educational technology, investigative research and psychometric testing. As a Regional Development Officer, Simon represents NIACE in the South Western region, liaising with strategic bodies and a range of organisations including learning and skills providers, keeping them informed about developments in policy and practice concerning adult learning, supporting the sharing of good practice and encouraging the implementation of NIACE’s national programmes in the region and the developing regional-level initiatives and projects – particularly in the fields of age demography, health and wellbeing, and learning technologies. Simon was formerly Director of the Enterprise Connection – a Research and Development organisation, specialising in new technology, and organisational and personal development. He has been working in the field of education and project development for over thirty years, with experience of all educational sectors, as well as public and commercial organisations. His primary interests remain in how technology is implemented and the human and cultural issues connected with that process, and in how human behaviour influences learning systems. Simon has developed and managed over 40 European Commission and UK Government projects and his consultancy experience includes community-based learning, scenario planning, enterprise programme development, videoconferencing and communications platform implementation, and behavioural psychometrics' use in human resources development. He has published work in the areas of communications skills, scenario planning, quality assurance, open learning, and technology and learning. |
