Aim

To assist in raising the level of awareness and understanding of Basic Skills Learning

 

Objectives

Working with colleagues in Hungary, Romania, Czech. Republic, Poland and Spain to:

bulletDevelop a set of criteria to identify good basic skills practice.
bulletDevelop an evaluation tool for basic skills activities.
bulletDevelop guidelines on conducting surveys.
bulletDevelop guidelines on policy formation.
bulletDevelop and deliver 3 day residential training programmes for the above in each 5 partner countries

On completion, all materials will be freely accessible and posted on the Internet (html format).

 

Update (11 July 2005)

The draft criteria, evaluation tool and guidelines are now completed.

The national training has been successfully piloted in 4 of the 5 partner countries, training over 80 staff working in a mix of non-governmental and education organisations.

Evaluations from the training events will be discussed at the next co-ordination meeting in Prague at the end of June 05, and will inform the final guidance and planning of future training in each of the countries.
