Aim

To increase the supply of qualified teachers of literacy, language and numeracy in the three regions to support capacity building.

 

Measurable Outcomes

The key focus of RETRO is the recruitment, training at level 4 and progression into employment of new and inactive teachers of adult literacy, language and numeracy.

Its objectives are to:

bulletmodel regional infrastructures to support recruitment and teacher training in adult literacy, language and numeracy.
bulletbuild capacity for teacher training.
bulletwiden the profile of new teachers, particularly in relation to ethnic minorities.
