Project HistoryPrevious YALP research (‘Basic Skills Work With Young Adults’, 2002, Jackson, C and Aylward, N) highlighted the range and quality of informal and non-formal literacy, language and numeracy provision for 16-25 year olds varied enormously, and showed a real need for development of practice, materials and policy.
