NIACE Consultation: Units of Assessment for Family Learning TutorsAre you a family learning tutor or manager? Can you help us to create some new units of assessment to develop our sector? What we would like you to do… This document includes a list of suggested descriptors for new units for family learning tutors. These units are not yet written and the final list will be agreed with the Children’s Workforce and Development Council (CWDC) and Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK). We would like your views on whether or not the proposed list would meet your needs as a tutor for nationally accredited professional development or the needs of your staff if you are a manager. Some of the units could be offered as part of a tutor or support worker’s initial training, others could be taken by a professional from another sector (e.g. school teacher or parenting adviser) looking for CPD in family learning. At this stage, they have not been assigned levels do not form full qualifications. We know that a title can be ambiguous so you will also have the opportunity to add key components that you feel should be included in a unit or to suggest new ones. Please download the document below – type in your comments – then save and send your response to sue.evans@niace.org.uk by 19 October 2007. You can respond as an individual or on behalf of an organisation. If you have further comments or questions regarding the project, please send a separate email to the same address. Thank you for your time.
