Prescriptions for Learning 2nd Evaluation Report

by Kathryn James

Project Status: Completed

The continuation of the project into a second year was made possible through funding from the Nottinghamshire Local Learning and Skills Council Local Initiative Funding. Continuation of funding beyond the remit of that funding is via Nottingham City Council Adult and Community Learning. The report is divided into four sections. Firstly, the current political and social context in which ‘Prescriptions for Learning’ arose and must be placed. Secondly, a review of the quantitative and qualitative data from the evaluation is described. Thirdly, we have included some case studies that show the experience of some individuals who have participated in the project. These indicate the nature of the work of the Learning Adviser and also highlight the other learning that participants achieve through participating in the project. Lastly, we include observations formed from speaking to people involved in the project and from carrying out the evaluation. These observations may have implications for possible continuation of the project and how future evaluations might be carried out.
