Carers and Learning

Project Status: Completed 2008

NIACE has developed a set of promotional materials to raise awareness of the importance of access to learning for carers. The focus is particularly on carers from socially excluded groups such as black and ethnic minority communities, young adult carers (16-25), disabled carers and those who live in rural areas.

NIACE has produced postcards featuring portraits of carers who have benefited from learning. There is also an information booklet for practitioners that concentrates on access to learning for marginalized groups of carers, highlighting good practice and featuring useful websites and other signposting information.

This project was funded by the European Social Fund.

You can download materials below or email anne.agius@niace.org.uk  for hard copies.
