Helen PlantSenior Research Officer Helen Plant (MA., DPhil.) is Senior Research Officer at NIACE. She undertakes research, development and project management roles on a wide range of projects. As NIACE’s lead researcher on information, advice and guidance, Helen worked on a number of projects that contributed to the national review of adult IAG services in England, including a groundbreaking study of on-programme IAG for adults, funded by the LSC. Other areas of particular interest include: learner voice; adult learning in rural areas; and gender and learning. Helen is currently also a member of the NIACE secretariat on the independent commission of inquiry into the future for lifelong learning. She joined NIACE in 2004 after three years as a post-doctoral researcher and lecturer in History at Leeds Metropolitan University. Publications include: Plant, H. and Novitzky, J.
