Developing young adults' employability through oracy

Project Status: Current

YALP is currently leading an NRDC (National Research and Development Centre for Adult Literacy and Numeracy) research and development project exploring young adults’ speaking and listening skills, and the impact on employability. The project worked with employers and young adults to examine definitions and understandings of employability. Building on these consultations, the project team worked with a number of providers in the youth sector to develop strategies and approaches for oracy development, and explored their impact on young adults’ learning and personal and social development. The project runs from April 2007 to March 2008.
