NIACE Support for EDPs
NIACE works to support the development of EDPs because of their positive effect on patterns of adult participation in education. EDPs in the UK have succeeded in empowering and motivating large numbers of adults who are, traditionally, underrepresented in other forms of education and training. These groups include working class adults, middle aged men and shift workers.
Plans in the UK for the University for Industry and the development of the Union Learning Fund mean that employee development is once more a priority issue in adult learning.
