NIACE and women learners

Projects

All of NIACE's work is relevant to women learners, however, the institute is involved in a number of projects and areas of work which are of specific interest to women. Examples are work on: informal learning; family learning; widening participation; information technology; accreditation issues; improving access for groups such as people with learning difficulties and disabilities, older learners and black learners.

NIACE’s annual International Women’s Day (IWD) Conferences focus on themes of current interest to women learners and those working with them.

Occasional issues of Adults Learning, the NIACE monthly journal, focus specifically on women learners.  In March 2000 there was an issue which explored how women's education and training might develop in the 21st Century.
