About

Welcome to More, Different and Better. This is an informal blog by staff of the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE) about policy issues relating to lifelong learning that are in the news, or ought to be.

Contributions are not formal statements of NIACE policy. While written from a NIACE perspective, these are our individual views and may be more personal and eclectic. NIACE has a large and rich website at www.niace.org.uk where you can read about our development and research work, policy statements, events and publications.

It is called More, Different and Better because these words sum up NIACE’s purpose as a campaigning charity promoting adult learning.

Our contributors will post as often or as little as they wish. That will mean, inevitably, that some subjects get more coverage than others. This should not be taken as any indication of NIACE priorities, it simply reflects what’s on our minds or at the top of our in-trays at any point. We welcome debate and we don’t expect everyone to agree with us, but this is our blog and we will remove any comments that are offensive, irrelevant or otherwise annoy. You do not need to register to post a comment, but all comments will be moderated before they appear.
