NIACE runs a number of high profile campaigns, to raise the demand for learning and skills in England and to celebrate outstanding learning achievements. We also run a range of events and training courses to support the interests of adult learners in different contexts.
Campaigns
- Adult Learners’ Week is the UK’s largest and longest-running festival of learning with the aim of promoting adult learning in all its diversity.
- Quick Reads started in 2006 and helps adults who are new to reading by supporting them with a series of short, exciting books written by bestselling authors and celebrities.
Over a 12 month period in 2010-2011, 99% of participants across 170 NIACE events were highly satisfied with events they attended
Events:
We organise a range of events including policy and information briefing days, provider and learner consultation events, topical seminars, focus groups and staff learning and development days. They provide a forum for lively debate and an exchange of views and knowledge from expert speakers in the field, which include NIACE’s professional speakers.
Adult Learners' Week is the UK's largest and longest running learning campaign. Held each May, it encourages thousands of adults, whatever their age, and background, to give learning a go. In 2013 the dates for Adult Learners' Week will be 18-24 May.
The Quick Reads initiative is a major collaboration between leading authors, publishers, government bodies, educationalists, the BBC and many more. Quick Reads are ideal for adults who are new to reading or who find reading difficult. Written by bestselling authors and celebrities, Quick Reads are short and exciting books.
