Background  

NIACE is pleased to work with the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE), to deliver this one-day course which introduces some of the key factors in establishing or improving supported employment services within social care, health or education settings. The course will cover commissioning and management issues as well as the role of supported employment practitioners as described by the newly developed National Occupational Standards for supported employment.

  •  To give an introductory overview of the supported employment model and the commissioning and management considerations that lead to the delivery of high quality provision.

 By the end of the training session participants will understand:

  • the principles of commissioning high quality supported employment for successful outcomes
  • the role of a supported employment practitioner such as a job coach and the skills they require
  • the importance of vocational profiles and understanding the job role
  • how to successfully engage employers
  • the importance of monitoring health & safety, risk, and wellbeing
  • recording progress and outcomes
  • where the funding is in the system for supported employment

Arrival and registration is at 9.30am for a 10:00am start. The event will end at 4:00pm
