Training Context

Increasingly, adults are taking part in learning and training in the workplace or related to the workplace. About 10% of adults are thought to have dyslexia. As a result, work-based learning assessors, trainers and managers need to understand how to support learners with dyslexia effectively, so that they meet their legal obligations and enable learners to fulfil their potential.

NIACE's publication "Supporting learners with dyslexia in work-based learning" outlines the issues to consider in supporting learners with dyslexia in work-based learning, and suggest some approaches to effective support. This training will extend and develop these ideas, providing participants with practical, hands-on strategies to use with learners.
