Background

The recently launched Government strategy ‘A New Approach to English for Speakers of Other Languages’ published in May 2009, set out the future direction for ESOL policy. The New Approach aims to ‘prioritise ESOL funding to those who form part of the many settled communities in England and migrants who are committed to staying in the UK.’

This is the second event sponsored by the LSC in the Y&H Region to support ESOL - a New Approach leads to develop a response to the strategy.
