The Learning Revolution White paper recognised the key part technology and broadcasting play in enabling informal adult learning. NIACE has been funded by Becta to develop training materials and has been an active member of the national informal adult learning technology and broadcasting forum.
By attending this workshop you will be able to explore how you can build your skills and the skills of others to use technology for informal learning.
Come and find out how easy it can be to set up online discussions, to makes videos – you might even venture into Virtual Classrooms to see what they have to offer!
This workshop aims to provide you with an overview of how technology can be used to support informal adult learning and access to resources which they can use to build their skills.
You will be able to take away ideas to try with your groups and you will also be introduced to training materials which you can use afterwards by yourself or with colleagues and friends.

Aims
Informal adult learning includes learning which is facilitated by volunteers as well as paid teachers. This workshop will explore how digital technology can be used by learning groups to make their learning experiences really exciting.
This workshop is for people who help make informal adult learning happen! It is open to members of learning groups as well as volunteers and paid staff. Find out how the adults who learn with you can make the Digital Age work for them!

• Arrival and registration is at 1:30pm for a 1:45pm start. The event will end at 4:30pm
• Event fee per person (includes lunch, tea/coffee):
£50 (NIACE Members)
£85 (Non NIACE Members)
NB: NIACE does not charge VAT on conference and course fees
• Places will be allocated in order of receipt of completed application forms (one form per person)
• Video cameras maybe be in use at this conference. If you do not wish to be photographed or appear on the video outputs please indicate this on the application form and make yourself known at registration
• Learners can opt out of displaying their names on the list of participants. Please indicate this on the application form
• Participants should be prepared to take their own notes as there will not be handouts for all sessions

• Cancellations are non-refundable
• Substitutions are to be advised 5 working days prior to the event
• A 10 working days notice period is required for provision of electronic note-takers, sign language interpreters and transcription to Braille
