Background

'The impact of adult education is messy, irregular and very personal. Our challenge is how we document this impact in a clear and systematic way that meets the needs of decision makers in these challenging times'. David Hughes, CEO, NIACE

As the UK economy continues to stagnate, it is vital that every pound of public spending is put to best use. But demonstrating the value of adult learning - not only for moving people towards employment but also in terms of its wider benefits - in a way which resonates with the Treasury and local commissioners can be an uphill struggle.

This NIACE Making Sense seminar will explore the work to date around 'what counts as evidence' and discuss how the impact of adult learning can be demonstrated more effectively to decision makers at a national and local level.
