By the end of the seminar delegates will have had the opportunity to:

discuss the implications of making the transition from key skills/SfL to Functional Skills;
investigate assessment examples for Maths and English at level 1; and,
consider the CPD required to deliver Functional Skills at all levels.

13.00	Welcome and introduction Functional skills, where are we now - an update What are your key questions? An introduction to functional skills (taking the fear out of functionals). Looking at the criteria and the differences between Key Skills/SfL and Functional Skills. Considering the impact on: Teaching and learning Assessment Discussing the issues - pilot findings Planning for the implementation - first steps towards success

Arrival, registration and lunch is at 12.15 for a 1:00pm start. The event will end at 4:00pm

NB: NIACE does not charge VAT on conference or course fees.

Participants should be prepared to take their own notes as there may not be handouts for all sessions
