Background
Building on the successful series of Making the Transition to Functional Skills training sessions delivered during 2012, in response to demand we are delighted to offer this new training course which focuses on speaking, listening and communication.

The training is designed for managers and practitioners delivering Functional English.

- To give participants a practical opportunity to investigate the Speaking, Listening and Communication component of Functional Skills English

Outcomes
By the end of the training session participants will have:
- investigated the requirements of the Speaking, Listening and Communication component of Functional Skills English
- explored opportunities to develop the skills needed to be successful in the summative assessment
- modelled the observation of Speaking, Listening and Communication in order to make assessment decisions
- considered the evidence required when assessing Speaking, Listening and Communication
- developed an understanding of the verification/moderation process

Event Information
Arrival and registration is at 10.45 for a 11:00am start. The event will end at 3:00pm
Event fee per person: £115 (NIACE members rate)

NB: NIACE does not charge VAT on conference or course fees.
Only online application forms with the payments section completed will be processed.
NB: If you wish us to invoice your employer we require a copy of the Purchase Order before the form is processed.
Places will be allocated in order of receipt of completed applications (one online application per person)
Participants should be prepared to take their own notes as there may not be handouts for all sessions

Substitutions are to be advised 5 working days prior to the event
Cancellations are non-refundable
A 15 working days notice period is required for provision of electronic note-takers, sign language interpreters and transcription to Braille
