Background

For many years colleagues have asked for recognised qualifications to validate the skills and expertise of teachers working with disabled learners across the learning and skills sector and to provide relevant training for new teachers. Lifelong Learning UK had been working with the sector to produce the professional standards for teachers working with disabled learners and develop specialist teaching qualifications.

This exciting event aims to provide participants with the opportunity to explore how the Application Guide can be used to inform professional practice and how they can work with Awarding organisations to offer the new qualifications.

The day has been designed to offer participants clear guidance on how they can improve professional practice and take away practical ideas and an action plan to take work forward within their organisations.
