[Background] [Programme] [Application Form]

Background

The theme of this year’s residential is “Putting the local into adult learning”. It’s a unique opportunity for you to escape the office and to discuss strategy with a great bunch of people.

We’ll review where we’re up to, and the changes that we think are on their way. We’ll talk in some depth around the Informal Adult Learning consultation and what it means for us, especially the challenge of community engagement and the involvement of wider social policy agendas.

We’ll review the big changes that are on their way in 2010, and also think about planning our way through a recession In addition to our own locally grown talent, we’ve invited a speaker from the Department of Communities and Local Government – a first for us – on the theme of local engagement.

And we’ll work on strategies to sell a wider vision to elected members and chief officers. Knuston Hall is an ARCA college and is part of Northamptonshire’s adult learning service. It’s about 4 miles from Wellingborough station on the Leeds/Sheffield/London line.
