Online Learning Matters

Extending your organisation’s learning provision

Does online learning matter to you?

Coming soon: NIACE is pleased to announce a new series of training events: “Online learning matters – Extending your organisation’s learning provision”.

These training events are based around a new NIACE publication carrying the same title, which will be available for purchase from the NIACE bookshop in December 2008.

The 1-day training events are aimed at post-16 teaching staff, especially in a community setting, who want to develop their own online learning provision. Practical support and step-by-step guidance will be offered to those who are experts in teaching and learning but who now want to extend their learning provision.

Aims for the training day:

bulletTo explore online learning opportunities and to develop a practical plan for providing learning online.
bulletTo support and guide participants in developing online learning provision.

Objectives:

At the end of the training day, participants will have

bulletexplored different approaches to learning and teaching online.
bulletconsidered different needs of learners when learning online.
bulletdeveloped a plan for providing online learning provision.
bulletidentified appropriate technology for delivering the online learning provision.
bulletidentified effective approaches to providing learner support online.
bulletidentified further developments needs in terms of teaching staff’s skills and knowledge.

Dates and timings:
The training events will be held in January 2009. Training dates and venues will be publicised soon.

16:30 Finish

Costs:
The training event will be charged at £195 per participant, and will include a free copy of the publication “Online learning matters”, and lunch and refreshments.
