[What are E-Guides Plus Events?] [Programme] [Accreditation] [Schedule] [Application Form]

What are E-Guides Plus events?

These free, one day events offer you the chance to extend and refresh your skills. They are available to tutors who have been on the E-Guides training programme or have had the programme cascaded to them within their organisation. Support is available during the day if you need help and support writing your cascade action plan.

“Very pleased with the training. Confidence has grown to be able to cascade to others. Trainers were knowledgeable and very supportive.”

“… Good opportunity for networking and skill sharing… Tailor made.”

“It was good to have so much attention, I had all my queries addressed. I gained more confidence in my use of IT. Was able to complete a unit of my JEB qualification.”

Programme

Morning session

Provides an opportunity to explore the use of learning platforms and e-portfolios and how they can be used effectively within teaching and learning.

bulletLearning platforms: explore how staff can be supported when developing a VLE as well as creating a mini-course for yourself
bulletE-portfolios: investigate the different ways in which e-portfolios can be created and used within teaching and learning.

Afternoon session

This session allows you to follow your own area of interest and provides a supportive environment in which to develop any of the topics undertaken during the course of the three-day E-Guides training programme. In addition, you may wish to continue your work around e-portfolios and/learning platforms.

Optional: Two online self-study modules are available

bulletMobile technologies - this self-study module investigates the use of selected mobile devices for teaching and learning
bulletOnline learning tools - this self-study module explores the way in which online learning tools and Web 2.0 technologies can be used to enhance teaching and learning.

Accreditation

E-Guides who are working towards accreditation are required to attend one E-Guides Plus event and undertake their assessed independent task. Candidates undertaking the Certificate in Educational Use of ICT qualification will be able to undertake the controlled one hour assessment task at the workshops. There is a registration charge for those wishing to undertake the accreditation.
