The ways in which we can learn are evolving
all the time. More and more organisations
are considering a move towards the
introduction of online or blended learning.
There are so many reasons why this is seen
as advantageous, including to:
| train their employees using a flexible approach that allows training to be relevant, delivered when required
and at times suitable for the organisation |
train volunteers and employees spread over a wide region who cannot easily attend face-to-face training
provide alternative delivery methods for their current learning provision
attract new and different learners
enhance existing face-to-face courses with an online element.
NIACE began delivering staff development
training online in 2006. Our courses have
proved very popular with participants from
all sectors including:
work-based learning
adult and community learning
further education
offender learning and skills
voluntary and community organisations
The participants feel they have really
benefited from the combination of
collaborative group work and self-study.
Comments from previous participants of
NIACE’s online courses include:
"I was able to see how this style of course
has met my own needs and can now
empathise with learners."
"I am definitely keen to pursue online
learning in my CPD as it is the most flexible
way for me to fit in with my work. I am really
impressed with the content and resources
made available through NIACE."
"An enjoyable and semi-flexible way of
learning, which suits the way I work/live."
"Given the limitations of time at work, this is
one of the few ways for me to learn and
develop skills."
"I have learned new skills and gained
confidence exploring technology."
NIACE are pleased to announce the
opportunity is now available for you to
participate in a National Open College
Network (NOCN) accredited, fully facilitated
blended course – Exploring Successful
Learning Online, commencing on the
5th November 2008 and finishing on the
17th December 2008.
