• Gurkha Resettlement Education and Adult Training (GREAT) project

  NIACE led a national project for England and Wales to develop and deliver ESOL at local level and contribute to national developmental work to support Gurkha spouses and families' successful integration and resettlement into UK society. 

  NIACE secured funding from the European Integration Fund (EIF) to work on the development of ESOL provision and learning materials for ex-Gurkhas, Gurkha spouses and their families.  The ESOL provision and learning materials was developed with our ESOL provider partners - Greenwich Community College, Barnet College and Coleg Powys.  Our outreach work with the Gurkha community was led by the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) with expert guidance from the Gurkha Welfare Trust.

• Mid-life Career Review

  The Mid-life Career Review is a 15 month project to develop and test different models of mid-life career review. The models are being piloted and evaluated to find out which approaches are most effective and for which client groups. The project will develop a range of materials for careers guidance practitioners to use with this age group.
