RUBLEThe Really Useful Book of Learning and Earning 2010 (RUBLE) is designed to support people experiencing mental health difficulties who wish to return to or take up work, volunteering or learning. |

1 in 4 leafletsNIACE has produced a series of leaflets for people experiencing mental health difficulties to help them make choices about taking up learning and choices to make regarding learning.

Enabling DeclarationLevels of declaration of mental health difficulties by learners and staff are low. The project explores practice within a range of settings that will enable and support people to declare, knowing that their needs will be met. |

Understanding Direct PaymentsMany adults, including people with mental health difficulties are motivated to return to adult learning by interest in, and necessity to learn about something of direct relevance to their lives. As a means by which people can take greater control over the support they receive, the social care personalisation agenda can provide that "hook" that enables individuals to take the first step back into adult learning and from which they can be signposted on to other opportunities if they wish. |

Families, learning and progressionThis is an ongoing programme of work examining and facilitating the development of progression within and from family learning. It interconnects with work on evidencing the impact of family learning. |

IMPACTThe IMPACT project addressed issues which prevent migrants attaining employment at the same rate and level as EU nationals. This was a transnational partnership project of agencies from five EU countries: Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and the UK. |

Stimulating Demand for LearningThis project has now finished. We've left it here for reference. Working with learning providers and a range of other partners to implement specific strategies aimed at increasing demand for learning by people with mental health difficulties. Pilot sites across the 9 regions consist of one or more learning or service providers and a range of other partners, to form strong and effective local partnerships that are able to encourage and support people with mental health difficulties into learning. |

Take Ten PeopleThis project has now finished. We've left it here for reference. Take Ten People promotes and supports an integrated approach to employment and learning and skills with adults who have experience of mental health difficulties. It is a collection of resources for use in different ways: As tools to support practitioners in their work with individuals; and to support their personal professional development; as resources to support local cross-sector joint working and as a training pack for organisations and/or partnerships to use for workforce development. |

Intercultural CompetenciesThis work was funded by the Leonardo da Vinci Transfer of Innovation fund and the Local Government Association. It brought together six partners from five European countries to draw on existing resources and knowledge to develop a guide for VET practitioners to enable them to develop their intercultural competenecies. |

GREATNIACE led a national project for England and Wales to develop and deliver ESOL at local level and contribute to national developmental work to support Gurkha spouses and families' successful integration and resettlement into UK society. NIACE secured funding from the European Integration Fund (EIF) to work on the development of ESOL provision and learning materials for ex-Gurkhas, Gurkha spouses and their families. The ESOL provision and learning materials was developed with our ESOL provider partners - Greenwich Community College, Barnet College and Coleg Powys. Our outreach work with the Gurkha community was led by the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) with expert guidance from the Gurkha Welfare Trust. |

Mid-life Career ReviewThe Mid-life Career Review is a 15 month project to develop and test different models of mid-life career review. The models are being piloted and evaluated to find out which approaches are most effective and for which client groups. The project will develop a range of materials for careers guidance practitioners to use with this age group. |
