An exploration of the future of Corby Learning Partnership strand of activity for literacy: Corby Reads
This project has now finished. Details about the project can be found below.
The aim of this project was to explore and evaluate options for the future provision of the literacy strand of provision services currently offered through the Corby Leaning Partnership, known as Corby Reads! This was an initiative that focused on raising the levels of literacy of children and young people in Corby through the engagement of all the citizens of Corby, and particularly parents and carers, including grandparents.
What are we aiming to achieve? How will we do this work? The work was undertaken by holding a series of interviews - both face-to face and by telephone - with a range of stakeholders who are to a greater or lesser extent currently involved in the work of Corby Reads! Interviews were also undertaken with national experts in this policy area, and with other partnerships around the country who are utilising a range of models to support and provide similar initiatives. Who is this work for?It is expected that this work will benefit the population of Corby, particularly young people and parents, carers and the wider workforce involved in supporting literacy development. What is (or will be) the impact of this work? This work provides the Corby Learning Partnership with a series of options for consideration for their future activity and sustainability. It will impact on young people, parents, carers and the wider workforce who are supporting literacy development in Corby.
