The round table discussions aim to gather the views of stakeholders about the QCF and its implementation to date. Each event is to be attended by a wide range of different stakeholders including policy makers, learning providers, awarding organisations and employer representative bodies. NIACE’s report will be an account of the views of the stakeholders present at the events and key issues arising from the discussions.
Gathering the views of stakeholders about the Qualifications and Credit Framework
This work, commissioned from NIACE by the Skills Funding Agency involves reporting upon a series of round table discussions about the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The round table discussions are due to take place in the late summer and autumn of 2012.
What are we aiming to achieve? How will we do this work?Records of the discussions held during the events will be used to create a report. Feedback on the draft report will be sought during a final round table event to be held in London in November 2012. Approval for the publication of the report will be sought from the Skills Funding Agency Qualifications Approvals and Governance Group. Who is this work for?NIACE’s report on the views expressed during the events about the QCF and its implementation to date will provide a 'stock take' for the Skills Funding Agency. The content of the report will be considered when planning future work to support the development of the QCF. What have we accomplished to date? The report was published in January 2013. The report begins by providing a background to the development and implementation of the QCF and a description of the current context in which the QCF operates. The report then gives a summary of the key points arising from discussions held during the round table events. The report concludes with key activities required to address issues raised during the discussions in order to further realise the benefits of the QCF. What is (or will be) the impact of this work? The report will support the Skills Funding Agency in its consideration of future work to support the development of the QCF.
