Equality and Diversity Innovation Fund (EDIF) 2013/14 - Application Form - Introduction

Applications to the Fund must be made online via this page. The application from comprises 4 sections:

  1. About your organisation
  2. About your project
  3. About your budget (in order to complete this section online you will need to upload an Excel spreadsheet using the template provided below)
  4. Your project authorisation

Templates

The Word template and the Excel spreadsheet template for your budget (both below) are intended enable you to:

  • prepare and draft your application prior to completing it online;
  • review the full set of questions before completing any question;
  • word count your responses (to check that you are within the set limits);
  • work on and save a version of the application form without being connected to the internet;
  • keep a record of your answers after you have submitted them online.

This template can be used with OpenSource software such as OpenOffice, as well as with Word ’97 onwards.

When you are happy with your draft, return to this page to complete the online form, copying and pasting answers from your pre-prepared version into the online form.

Differences between the template and the online form

The online application form will ask for the same information, in the same order, as this Word document. In order to improve the accessibility of the online form it will not quite be laid out in the same format as this Word version and your particular online form may not be quite as long as this Word version because, as you will see below, the answer you give to a question sometimes determines whether or not you are asked a follow-up question. For example, if you answer ‘yes’ to the question asking whether there are any partners involved in your project then you will be presented with a follow-up question asking for more information about those partners.

The deadline

Online applications need to be made between 9am on Saturday 10 August 2013 and 11pm on Monday 16 September 2013.

Accessibility

If you are blind/partially sighted or Deaf and think you may need access support from us to enable you to complete the online application please contact us at edif@niace.org.uk as soon as possible.

Maximum word/character limits

Some questions have maximum word or character limits for your answers. These limits are marked clearly on the Word version of the form, and on the online version of the form. You can use the Word count function in Word to count the number of words/characters you have typed in your draft. Do not exceed the numbers of words or characters stated. In the online version if any of your answers exceed the word or character limit, you will not be able to move on to the next page of the application form until this has been corrected.

Compulsory questions

Compulsory questions are marked with an asterisk on the Word version of the form. In the online application form, these fields will be marked in the same way. You will not be able to move on to the next page of the online application form until all compulsory questions on the page you are on have been completed.

Examples

To illustrate how to complete certain sections of the form we have included some ‘real life’ examples, taken from successful applications to the Skills Funding Agency’s 2012/13 Equality and Diversity Fund.
