Improving learning and skills provision for people who experience mental health difficulties

This strand of work is concerned with improving services for people who learn and work in learning and skills provision.

What are we aiming to achieve?

Promoting access to and success in learning and skills provision for people who experience mental health difficulties is dependant upon the skills, and capabilities of staff in the learning and skills sector.  It could also be argued that good learning and skills provision is dependant upon the positive mental well-being of staff in the learning and skills sector.

This area of work is about promoting skills, capabilities and well-being for staff who work in the learning and skills sector.

How will we do this work?

By focusing on projects and activities that relate to this strand of work.

Who is this work for?

Anyone who is interested in improving services in learning and skills for people experiencing mental health difficulties.

What is (or will be) the impact of this work?

Much of this work has been about raising awareness of the issues of staff mental health and well-being.  By providing training packs such as Working Well, Mental Health Matters and Mental Health First Aid we also aim to provide practical activities and support to staff in the sector.
