Aim of Project:

The project aims to widen participation and promote life long learning (inc basic skills), for visually impaired people 16+, by providing a bridging point between mainstream College of Further Education and a specialist voluntary agency.

What does the project do?

Realise the potential of visually impaired people through specialist training and support taking individuals from a state of low confidence and self esteem to planning for future personal development through further education, training, voluntary work and employment. The project will enable the sharing of expertise of these two agencies to provide a pre-vocational training tailored to the support needs of the target group in a variety of learning environments.

Progress/achievements/interesting developments which are/have taken place:

With partners working towards the commencement of the project in September 2002, when the visually impaired students will start on the developed specialised course.
