She has most recently been co-ordinating and delivering learning opportunities for people with mental health needs in a College of Further Education, as well as providing cross college support and staff development sessions. BN1 3XB Jenny is the Regional Programme Officer for the South East. She has a background in developing Skills for Life and Learning Support work through partnerships and community provision in both London and the South East.

Lin Westmoreland The project officer for the South West is Inge Axt-Simmonds. Inge’s background is in mental health social work. She has worked both in urban and rural communities as an approved social worker as well as a Mental Health Act Commissioner. In the last few years Inge’s main work has been in a jointly funded post between a Local Authority and an acute Mental Health Care Trust. She was involved in staff development and joint training initiatives across the two organisations. Inge is particularly keen on engaging learners into the network as well as colleagues from Health.

Weston Road, Coventry, CV3 2UN Lesley Talbot-Strettle is the NIACE Regional Programme Officer - Mental Health for the West Midlands. She has worked in a variety of educational settings, focusing on literacy, language, numeracy and learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. She has worked on a variety of projects including staff training and innovative programme delivery. W Yorks, BD5 0QL Tricia Clark is the new NIACE Regional Programme Officer for Yorkshire & Humberside. Prior to taking up post in April 2007, Tricia worked for 13 years in a large FE/HE college as a Learning Support Tutor with responsibility for the development of policy and practice to address the additional learning needs of students with mental health difficulties on the full range of the college’s HE, FE and Adult Education programmes in addition to directly supporting the learners themselves on a daily basis. She has also devised and delivered training for a variety of organisations and colleges throughout the region. Tricia is a UK consultant/ delegate for the European Gruntvig 2 mental health project ‘It’s all in the mind’ involving six EU countries. Tricia’s work, some of the protocols she developed and interviews with her learners feature in the training pack, ‘Learning and Mental Health’, commissioned and distributed by West Yorkshire Learning and Skills Council. _______________________________________________ |
