The report - Family learning: An evaluation of the benefits of family learning for participants, their families and the wider community - published by the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted), highlights the key features enabling children and adults to make good progress in their learning and attainment.
It focuses on targeting families most in need of support, the features of effective learning programmes, the impact of family learning on both children and adults and the models adopted to promote community cohesion.
The report also makes a number of recommendations to improve the quality of provision further.
Clare Meade, NIACE Acting Programme Director, Family Learning, said:
"NIACE welcomes Ofsted's report and is pleased that it confirms the positive impact that family learning has on parents, children and the wider family.
We are especially pleased that it shows how successful providers are at reaching isolated and excluded families, and the importance of effective partnerships in achieving that. The report also recognizes the wider benefits of learning for both parents and children."
