There is still time for projects and organisations to hold activities for the September Skills Festival (19 September - 8 October 2011), a national campaign aiming to provide one million opportunities for people across the UK to try new skills through ‘Have a Go' activities. The September Skills Festival will culminate with WorldSkills London 2011 which will take place from 5 to 8 October at ExCel London.

There are several ways of getting involved with the September Skills Festival and WorldSkills London 2011. Being part of this national celebration is easy:

• run ‘Have a Go' activities and advertise your events online, for free;
• use WorldSkills resources to help you badge your activities as festival events;
• order New Horizons, a free motivational magazine to give away to learners and potential learners;
• attend the WorldSkills London 2011 international event to celebrate the value of vocational skills;
follow us on Twitter and tell us about your experiences using the #WorldSkills and #septemberskills hashtags; and
• continue your activities and celebrations after these national events have ended.

Richard Crabb, Campaigns and Educational Outreach Team Leader, at NIACE, said:

"The September Skills Festival, co-ordinated by NIACE in partnership with WorldSkills London 2011 and the associated ‘Have a Go' campaign, provides learning providers with a great opportunity to attract learners to their organisation. Holding ‘Have a Go' activities - free, fun, inspirational and interactive sessions - will inform adults of all ages of the opportunities open to them, help them to discover new skills and encourage them back into learning."

There is also an opportunity to be a part of the four day international event, WorldSkills London 2011, a unique celebration of skills from across the world. Book your tickets now to attend and support Team UK.
