FE Funding and Landscape Tuesday, September 6, 2011 - 13:35
"Colleges need greater freedom from over-elaborate funding restrictions and other limitations to achieve their full potential for the benefit of their wider communities", is the key finding of the Interim Report from the Independent Commission on Colleges in their Communities, published in July 2011.
Yet, colleges are at the centre of policy changes that are likely to change the further education landscape over the coming years, following the HE White Paper which outlines a new vision for higher education and the New Challenges, New Chances consultation which highlights 9 key areas for consultation on the reform agenda for further education.
NIACE's policy seminar in Leicester on 19 September - FE Funding and Landscape - will provide attendees an opportunity to explore in detail:
• how the policy changes will impact on the FE sector in terms of freedom, fairness and responsibilities;
• the implications of Level 3 fee loans for learners and FE institutions;
• the development of new approaches to higher education delivery; and
• the impact the proposals will have on widening participation and progression for adults.
