New IT qualification Friday, October 8, 2010 - 17:52
ITQ is an established training framework based on the National Occupational Standards, backed by a number of awarding bodies. As the major ICT user qualification studied by a wide range of learners, the new qualification requires learners to undertake a mandatory unit; Improving Productivity Using IT.
New ITQ - published by NIACE and endorsed by City & Guilds - covers the new mandatory unit at levels 1, 2 and 3. It offers learners and teachers practical help to understand the unit and provides clearly worked examples to illustrate the activities required to achieve it. The final section of the book offers descriptions of the many functions and options available in Microsoft Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 applications to improve productivity.
Dr. Alan Clarke, author of New ITQ, said:
"The New ITQ book is essential for all learners and providers especially as the new qualification has also been aligned with the Qualifications and Curriculum Credit Framework, making the change all the more significant. At the moment over 100,000 learners undertake the ITQ each year and this will grow with funding agencies prioritising this award. It is now also being delivered by all parts of the Post-16 sector."
