New website for family learning providers Thursday, July 1, 2010 - 12:11
The National Family Learning Network website is ideal for a range of family learning organisations; local authorities, voluntary or community organisations, museums, libraries, or children's centres. It offers resources, job listings, funding opportunities, the latest news and a community forum.
Carol Taylor, Director of Operations at NIACE said:
"NIACE is delighted to be a partner in the National Family Learning Network. This is a real opportunity for those involved in family learning to come together, share their knowledge and develop a collective voice. We know that many people, in different sectors, are doing some fantastic work with families and we want to make sure that, in these difficult financial times, they can keep on producing excellent outcomes for adults and children."
The National Family Learning Network - a partnership between NIACE, Campaign for Learning and ContinYou - supports over 9,500 providers who work with an estimated 5 million families each year and advocates for family learning with policy-makers and funders. It gives those involved in family learning the chance to have their say.
The Network manages the Big Impact Project, which offers support for Big Lottery funded family learning projects and their partners by:
• creating the National Family Learning Network website;
• producing high quality resources and materials that support programme delivery;
• maintaining a funding directory to support the sustainability of family learning;
• developing customised training; and
• offering peer mentoring and one to one support.
The Big Impact Project is funded by the Big Lottery which has given grants worth £40 million over three years, to increase family learning opportunities across England.
