Nominations now closed for Adult Learners’ Week 2013 Thursday, December 13, 2012 - 17:00
Nominations are now closed for the 2013 Adult Learners’ Week Awards in England; a selection process will follow in the new year to choose the winners.
Shona Farmer, Head of the Adult Learners’ Week Team at NIACE, said:
“We would like to thank everyone who has nominated for the Adult Learners’ Week Awards in 2013. This year we introduced new award categories, including those for Sport, Health, Work and Life Skills and these appear to have inspired many of the hundreds of nominations we have received for remarkable individuals and projects.
“The remarkable stories of people who have used learning to transform their lives – and those of the projects which have helped them do that – are the perfect examples of why adult learning opportunities are so vital for individuals, families, communities and the nation as a whole. We now look forward to the rigorous selection process in the new year where we are joined by partners from across the adult learning sector to scrutinise and debate every single nomination before deciding on the eventual winners.”
In the new year, NIACE will be publishing details on how you can get involved in events and activities for Adult Learners’ Week in 2013. You can also visit the Adult Learners’ Week website to find out more.
Please note that nominations in Wales are still open; the deadline is Friday 8 February 2013.
