NIACE has received over 1,400 nominations for Adult Learners’ Week 2013 in England. Every nomination is read and every learner nominated will receive a certificate of recognition, even if they do not go on to win an award, of which there will be over 80 presented in May.

Shona Farmer, Head of the Adult Learners’ Week Team, said:

"We’d like to thank everyone for their support in reaching this nominations total, particularly in light of our shorter deadline compared to previous years. It’s vital that we continue to illustrate the positive effects of adult learning and Adult Learners’ Week is an important way in which we can all do this.

We’re now looking forward to reading about the many inspirational adult learners and the people who have supported them in achieving their success. Our intensive selection process will begin with panels made up of adult learners, previous award winners and people working across the sector. This year’s award categories have helped produce a range of invigorating stories about how adults have used learning to transform their lives, so, as always, choosing our winners will be a very challenging task."
