The Naomi Sargant Memorial Lecture 2010 - Digital Literacy: Survival Skills for the 21st Century - took place at Channel 4 on Tuesday, 13 April 2010.

This year's lecture was given by Martin Bean, Vice-Chancellor of The Open University, who recently joined the OU with twenty-five years' experience as an industry leader and author in global business training and education.

In his speech, Martin examined the rich potential of new technologies in education, their role in developing digital literacy as a critical life skill, and considered how collective action might tackle the threat posed to social justice and mobility through digital exclusion.
