The Skills Show - taking place at Birmingham NEC on 15-17 November - is the UK's biggest skills and careers event, inspiring young people and adults to find out more about further education opportunities, apprenticeships and gaining skills. Throughout the show NIACE will be hosting a stand (177) in Hall 1, where visitors can learn more about Adult Learners' Week and take part in a number of interactive activities focused on adult maths and numeracy ahead of our big maths initiative in the new year.

Alex Michael, NIACE Campaigns and Marketing Officer, said:

“We’re going to have a whole host of activities about maths, including Maths Bingo’ for teams to calculate the right answers and aim for a ‘Full House’ alongside other maths challenges and quizzes. On Saturday we will have a visit from Dr Maths’ who will entertain visitors with maths puzzles and activities.”

“It’s easy to forget just how much we use, and rely on, maths in our lives, and our aim is to remind people just how fun and easy maths can be! As such, we’ll have plenty of ‘top tips’ and helpful resources to share with everyone! Hope to see you there!”

Richard Crabb, NIACE's Head of Partnerships and Dissemination, said:

"NIACE believes that all kinds of learning and skills are worth celebrating and we're delighted to be involved in The Skills Show. For us, it's an important opportunity to highlight that learning as an adult can be fun, invigorating and life-changing.
