Further Education

The 450 Further Education Colleges in England and Wales are major providers of adult learning at local level. In recent years the proportion of further education who are mature has increased, and they now form a majority in most colleges.

Many Colleges are members of NIACE, and the Institute works closely with the sector on a range of policy and development issues. Current information on this site includes:

bulletBriefing on the report of the Kennedy Inquiry into Widening Participation in Further Education
bulletReport of a NIACE conference on the interface between Further Education and Higher Education
bulletColleges in membership of NIACE are listed on the membership page
